5 tips for a better welding result

1. Pay attention to the position of the wig torch and the position of the hose package
You should pay attention to a few things in order to improve the guidance of the burner. It is much easier and safer if you hold the burner like a ballpoint pen. It is also important to place the hosepack on a table, for example. This relieves the sweaty hand and you can pull the weld seam with a finer feel. You can put the hose on your lap when sitting and over your shoulder when standing

2. Shielding gas quantity set incorrectly or not at all

Every welder has forgotten to turn on the shielding gas. There is a simple technique for doing this. Establish a simple routine. Always start as follows: 1. switch on the welding machine, 2. turn on the gas, 3. put on the mouthguard, 3. put on gloves, 4. put on your helmet. A system like this will make you less likely to make mistakes in the future because it just becomes routine.

3. Using the wrong TIG needle

Not every tungsten electrode is suitable for everything. Therefore, green tungsten electrodes are better suited for aluminum welding. For this purpose, the electrodes are not ground, as this is the best way to form the calotte.

A gold tungsten electrode is more suitable for stainless steel/steel. This is slept 45 degrees, always towards the top. This results in an optimal arc

4. The ground wire is not properly attached

With the ground cable, it is always important to attach it as close as possible to the welded part. It would even be best if it were connected directly to the welded part. But it should also be noted here that the connection is optimal. Care must be taken to ensure that there is no dirt or paint between the welded part and the mass.

A quick tip, if you don't have a way to attach the mass, then use a gripper to do this, because the beak is simply much smaller here.

5. Insufficient or no cleaning of the welded part

It is quite important to clean the weldment before and during welding. You need very little for that. Just a rag and some acetone. A stainless steel brush or a cleaning brush for stainless steel is suitable for coarser dirt. These are available in our shop.
